Where the river flows

Today i found myself sat on the bank of a beautiful river. And i began thinking. Which is dangerous in itself, but then, rivers can sometimes have that effect too.

There is something peaceful about rivers. Maybe it is the quiet murmur of flowing water, the hypnotic swirls of eddies and flows beneath the surface, the tumultuous beneath the calm. Or maybe it is with the awareness of how strong they can be, the devastation they can cause given enough input of water, in direct contradiction to their normal, slow but relentless flow. As it has been said by Lao Tzu;
