Kyoto ft. Bamboo forest – November 23rd

Hello!

Today we were going to take a stab at some sights around Kyoto. We decided we would check out the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest first. I had seen so many photos of this place all over the Internet (especially Pintrest), and K and I were very eager to go. We took the train there from central Kyoto and it took about half an hour. The trains were beyond full and we were packed in soooo tightly we couldn’t even move. We had to literally chuck ourselves into crowd of people in the train like throwing a marble into a chunk of jello. When no one got off along the way, we realized everyone was also headed to the Bamboo forest. We found out a couple days later that it was a national holiday (and also a Sunday) so that’s why every Japanese person and their dog (literally) were there. We…
